Contract Mortgage Servicing Specialist
job description
Mortgage Processors-
Processing mortgage loan applications from the time of receipt of application to submission of the loan package to underwriting
Gathering, organizing and tracking loan documentation
Working with lenders, applications, underwriters, appraisers and others to complete processing
Resolving customer service issues
Mortgage Closers-
Documenting and funding transactions for new loan originations
Ensuring loans clearn conditions set by underwriters
Reviewing proper documentation for clients
Analyzing preliminary title reports, purchase contracts and appraisal reports
Mortgage Underwriters-
Evaluating creditworthiness of customers
Assessing whether information on loan documents meets financial institution and/or government standards.
Approving or declining loans within the institution's credit policy guidelines
Interacting with mortgage lenders to develop alternatives or exceptions on marginal loans
Title/Escrow Officers-
Analyzing purchase documents, loan contracts and escrow instructions
Reviewing title and related documentation
Completing escrow transactions
Packaging and sending loan documents to title companies
job requirements
Processors-
High School Diploma required, preferably a Bachelor's Degree
At least 2 yrs previous mortgage loan processing experience in a financial institution
Strong organizational, customer service, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Closers-
High School Diploma required, preferably a Bachelor's Degree
At least 1 year of mortgage loan closing experience
Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
Underwriters-
Bachelor's Degree highly preferred
At least 2-5 years experience as an Underwriter
Title/Escrow Officers-
Bachelor's degree preferred, not required
At least 2 years experience with a Title or Escrow background
Knowledge of major loan processing and closing procedures
