Job Description

  • Define, document and publish data quality metrics and validation rules
  • Perform data validation and data monitoring
  • Develop standard data profiling tools and processes to catch data issues before data consumption (reporting)
  • Define data validation and reconciliation processes
  • Conduct validation of data content after movement into the enterprise data stores
  • Define, capture and maintain metadata for all systems, ensuring a common definition of data attributes across the enterprise
  • Monitor data access points to eliminate duplication of data.  For instance, work with all stakeholders to ensure that reports and analytics are being generated from a single point of the truth.
  • Generate reports on Data Quality errors and work with the IS and the business to quickly resolve those issues
  • Coordinate with the Data Warehouse Architect for enterprise level data management





    A four-year degree is required, preferably in Business, Management Information Systems or Computer Science.  The following experience is required:


    • Solid experience utilizing Business Intelligence platforms; MicroStrategy is a plus
    • Strong database development experience, 5-7 years
    • Solid experience analyzing and profiling data across multiple disciplines
    • Solid database management experience (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, NETEZZA, etc.); 5-7 years
    • Solid SQL experience, working with complex queries; 5-7 years


Job Requirements

  • Overall responsibility for Data Governance:

-       Verify the accuracy of data in accordance with published standards

-       Ensure the timeliness of data going into the data stores

-       Ensure the completeness of data going into the data stores

-       Communicate the concerns about data quality to internal and external stakeholders

-       Maintenance of Master Data Definitions and Usage Guidelines

-       Control and measurement of the quality of the Master Data

-       Providing a secure environment which protects the confidentiality of the data

-       Work with the Data Quality Manager  to ensure the validity of the data

-       Work closely with Data Quality Manager to ensure the timely remedy of data issues across the enterprise
