Technology company, located in the Fort Lauderdale area, is looking for a Security Analyst. Oour client is growing rapidly and this is a brand new position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Utilize security tools, such as protocol analyzers, to perform analysis of network events to identity variance from normal behavior, troubleshoot, and isolate network problems.
Monitor security system logs (e.g., intrusion detection system, firewall system logs, etc.) and report on discovered anomalies.
Monitor security systems for problems, such as capacity thresholds and improper access.
Initiate vulnerability assessments and prepare appropriate remediation plans
Assist with internal audit initiatives to evaluate the adequacy and appropriateness of IT controls.
Two years relevant work experience in computer network monitoring and security analysis.
Working knowledge of both Windows and Unix-based systems and
o Operating System security, Directory Services, and hardening standards; and methodologies for each in a corporate setting.
o Security testing tools for both Windows and UNIX-based platforms.
o The IP protocol suite, including TCP, UDP, and ICMP.
o HTTP, FTP, and SMTP.
o Server level security (email, database, web server, etc.).
o Security Event Management systems, experience with Syslog data, OS event log, web server log analysis.
o Security vulnerabilities that target OS, network devices, and web applications and their impact on information systems and response approach.
Education/Training: BS in Computer Science, Information Science, or equivalent training.
