Job Description

Administrative Assistant / Secretary

The Muscular Dystrophy Association, dedicated to conquering neuromuscular diseases, is ranked among the nation’s top health agencies. Headquartered in Tucson, Arizona, the organization provides comprehensive healthcare services through its network of 230 hospital-affiliated clinics, funds over 80 summer camps nationwide and supports nearly 400 research projects around the world. With over 200 field offices and its 1,400 employees, MDA local District offices organize special events and fund-raising programs, including the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon, and administer local health care services.

As an Administrative Assistant / Secretary you will be responsible for:
  • Providing administrative support to the local office team.
  • Answering phones, handling correspondence and accounting functions.
  • Maintaining databases and general office duties.

    Job Requirements

    The successful candidate must have previous secretarial and bookkeeping experience.  Individual must have working knowledge of database maintenance, proficiency in Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Desktop Publishing and phone systems.  Excellent phone skills are required.  The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment is needed.
