About Us
ResCare which operates Brooklyn Job Corps Academy is funded by the US Department of Labor to provide vocational training and High School Diploma and GED classes to 18-24 years old. At ResCare we value community, inclusiveness and diversity in all its forms, Green Card holders & National Guards are welcomed to register (EOE - M/F/D/V). The entire program is 100% free of charge!!!!!!
ResCare’s Extraordinary Offer: Once you complete any one of ResCare’s vocational trades you will be eligible to attend any City University of New York (CUNY) for an Associate Degree 100% FREE of charge!!!! Additionally, we pay for your subway transposition and lunch expense each day that you attend college and you also receive $150.00 book stipend per semester. As long as you are registered in our program these benefits are available to you. Yes, I said, it is all FREE!!!!
Location
We are located at 585 DeKalb Avenue Brooklyn New York 11205 (we share the building with Home Depot). Take the L train to Metropolitan Avenue and catch the G train to Bedford and Nostrand and walk two blocks or take the 44 bus or the 38 bus to the corner of DeKalb & Nostrand.
We provide the following “Free" Vocational Training and Academic Programs:
· FREE: Associate Degree from any City University of New York (CUNY). You must have a GED or HSD when you register. Or you need to obtain your HSD or GED in our program, addition to the vocational trade, before you can register for the CUNY program!
- FREE: Comp TIA A+ Training. You will obtain your Comp TIA A+ Certification. You must have a GED or HSD to register!
- FREE: Certified Medical Assistant Training. You will obtain your CCMA, CPT, CET and First Responder Certifications. This trade runs by semesters. You must have a GED or HSD to register.
- FREE: Medical Office Management Training. You will obtain your CMAA, CMT, CBCS, CHVC and CMIES Certifications. You do not need a GED or HSD to register!
- FREE: Visual Communication Training. You will obtain your Adobe Certification. You do not need a GED or HSD to register!
- FREE: Security Officer Training. You will obtain your 8 and 16 Hr. Certificates, NYS Security License, Fire Guard Certificate, First Responder Certificate, and your Federal Emergency Management Agency (FIMA) Certification and the Fire Drill Conductor Certifications. You do not need a GED or HSD to register!
- FREE: Culinary Arts Training. You will obtain you Culinary Certificate, NYC Food Handlers Permit and ServSafe Certification. You do not need a GED or HSD to register!
- FREE: GED and HSD classes are available. Classes are conducted by the Board of Education. NOTE: We are not a GED program!!!!!!
