Description

Atterbury Job Corps Center and its satellite center, IndyPendence (IJCC), are voluntary educational facilities offering options in career skills, as well as academic and vocational training for young adults from 16-24 years old. Atterbury Job Corps is a residential facility located just off of US 31 in Edinburgh, IN.

 

  1. Follow all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures no manipulation of student data.

     

  2. Provides GED instruction to students teaching from approved curriculum.

     

     

  3. Assists with GED test and GED class scheduling.

     

     

  4. Works as a member of the Career Development Team.

     

     

  5. Provides GED programming to include developing linkages with the area GED testing provider. Assists with GED Testing schedule.

     

     

  6. Works as a member of the Career Development Team in developing the employability of students.

     

     

  7. Assists with CDSS programming to include Career Preparation and Career Development.

     

     

  8. Serves as a staff resource to "cover" staff vacancies reallocating staff resources where they are required to maintain student services.

     

     

  9. Participates in student AWOL retrieval, Student Performance Appraisal and Individual Student Placement Plan activities.

     

     

  10. Administers scores and monitors tests and assignments to ensure competence.

     

     

  11. Assists with CSS and employability instruction and accountability with Career Development staff in concert with other program, management and administrative staff.

     

     

  12. Ensures that the GED areas and systems are in compliance with the Center contract, DOL directives and guidelines, program manuals, Standard Operating Procedures, Company standards and related documents.

     

     

  13. Assists with Career Development Plans and Individual Student Placement Plans.

     

     

  14. Ensures that program areas of responsibility and systems meet or exceed current Job Corps OMS standards.

     

     

  15. Maintains classroom discipline and student accountability.

     

     

  16. Controls the use of classroom equipment and supplies.

     

     

  17. Monitors student progress and posts pertinent information to Student Profile Folders.

     

     

  18. Provides personal and employability counseling to students.

     

     

  19. Assists with Grad 90 student identification and programming.

     

     

  20. Participates in CSSR/Assessment activities.

     

     

  21. Ensures regular care and maintenance of assigned facility areas. Train and supervise students in the participation of facility care and maintenance.

     

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Education or related academic subject area and valid in-State teaching certificate required. May be waived by Department of Labor temporarily in conjunction with approved development plan to acquire certification.
