Description
We are looking for a part or full-time Pharmacist to join our team of three Pharmacists and six technicians fulfilling duties associated with hospital, retail and oncology pharmacy. Community Memorial Hospital was the first Wisconsin hospital to establish Remote Dispensing Sites which operate at two of our satellite clinics. This position offers a flexible schedule and competitive compensation and benefits package.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
¨ Know and exhibit support of CMH’s mission and values of QUALITY, RESPECT, CARE, TRUST and COMMUNITY at all times.
¨ Process medication orders onto appropriate patient profile. Interpret and verify appropriateness of therapy and dosing range.
¨ Verify unit dose care filling, parenteral product preparation, floor stock replacement, crash cart drawer replacement, and order filling by technical personnel.
¨ Provide physicians, nursing staff, and public with drug information such as drug selection, dosage, proper administration, etc.
¨ Monitor appropriateness of therapy based on patient status, lab work, culture results and clarify inappropriate physician orders when necessary.
¨ Prepare IV products requiring aseptic techniques such as adult and pediatric hyper alimentation, chemotherapy agents, syringes, IV additives, irrigations, and minibag preparation.
¨ Extemporaneously compound those items not readily available form a manufacturer.
¨ Supervise daily work of Pharmacy Technicians.
¨ Perform clinical pharmacy services as assigned i.e. pharmacokinetic dosing, Q.A./D.U.E. audits.
¨ Insure patient confidentiality.
¨ Regular and reliable attendance. (Note: To meet the around the clock patient care needs, an employee may be requested to work extra shifts, extend their work shift beyond the normal work schedule or be called to work in an emergency situation although they are not on call.)
¨ Promptly communicate pertinent information regarding patient, physician, personnel concerns, malfunctioning equipment, and department activities to supervisor.
¨ Demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with safety standards, HIPAA and the Corporate Compliance Program.
