MULTIMEDIA PRODUCER/JOURNALIST

13WMAZ/13wmaz.com in Macon is accepting applications for the position of Multimedia Producer/Journalist. This position is part of the 13WMAZ Information Center, which gathers news and information about Central Georgia for television, the Web and Mobile. Duties include: producing compelling TV newscasts and webcasts for 13WMAZ Eyewitness News and 13wmaz.com; general assignment reporting for all platforms; writing news stories and shooting and editing video for all platforms.

            Minimum qualifications include:

• Strong reporting, writing and video storytelling skills and the drive to “dig" for news.
• Demonstrated interest in current affairs. Knowledge about Central Georgia is a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to operate a computer.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver news on-camera in scripted and ad-lib situations.
• Understanding of ethical and legal standards of journalism.
• Strong video-editing skills for broadcast and Web. Proficiency on Avid Newscutter video editing system is a plus.
• Four-year college degree, or one year of news writing or
  producing experience.
