Fitness Service Manager

Scope of the Position
The Fitness Service Manager is a critical role for building success within each fitness club. The Fitness Service Manager is responsible for improving the performance of the Fitness Department by working closely with staff to help them meet and exceed revenue and personal development goals. The Fitness Service Manager is expected to hold their fitness department to the highest standards and maintain consistent and effective communication to help the club and its staff succeeds.
By consistently following Town Sports International's systems and procedures and by coaching and supervising employees to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, Fitness Programming Managers will achieve success.
Essential Functions
- Work with corporate, area and club management to recruit, hire, train and develop staff.
- Coach staff towards established Personal Training revenue goals and hold them to consistent, measurable, standards to assist them in developing within their roles and beyond.
- Ensure the accurate reporting of all personal training income and department payroll expenses.
Credentials and experience
- Minimum of twelve months prior management experience, preferably in a health related field
- Previous experience as a fitness trainer and/or group fitness instructor
- Certification in ACE, ACSM, AFFA, NSCA or
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education or Exercise Physiology
- CPR Certification
- Foundations Part I and II, Quick Fit, and NFSO through TSI’s in-house certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Service oriented attitude towards members
- Positive managerial attitude and an ability to communicate effectively with all staff
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of all exercise equipment. Ability to coordinate the repair, maintenance, and cleaning procedures for all equipment.
