Electrical Estimator

McCarthy’s Central Division Preconstruction/Estimating Department currently has a need for an Electrical Estimator. 

Job Title:  Electrical Estimator

Reports To:  VP, MEP Services

Position Summary:  McCarthy’s Central Division Preconstruction/Estimating department is a large group of professional estimators working on some of the most challenging projects in the country. We pride ourselves on delivering cost certainty to our clients, and we are looking to add a talented estimator to our staff.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform quantity take-off and pricing of electrical estimates.
• Assist with final assembly of estimate for presentation to Owner.
• Subcontractor solicitation during biding process.
• Aid field operations with change order pricing.
• Review of the project documents for value analysis suggestions.
• Preparation and pricing of value analysis suggestions.
• Coordinate electrical scope of work with architectural, structural and mechanical estimators.
• Prepare budget comparisons between current and previous estimates.

Desired Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

• 10+ years of electrical estimating experience.
• Proven experience estimating large healthcare and/or science and technology projects is required.
• General knowledge of construction principles/process.
• General knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids, GMP processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred, but not required based on experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook..
• Ability to use, or learn to use, ICE, Wendes estimating programs.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
