The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) provides military intelligence information to warfighters, defense policymakers and force planners in the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community.



The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has critically important Counterintelligence Intelligence Officer positions for individuals who are qualified for these outstanding employment opportunities. 

 

DIA is a Department of Defense combat support agency and an important member of the United States Intelligence Community.  DIA provides military intelligence to warfighters, defense policymakers and force planners in the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community.  Its vital intelligence work supports U.S. military planning and operations and weapon systems acquisition.

DIA Counterintelligence Intelligence Officers use their  superior interpersonal skills, unique capabilities, exceptional training and professional expertise as a member of DIA’s professional team. Their contributions directly assist the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and the Department of Defense (DoD) in bringing to light, and neutralizing foreign intelligence threats directed against Defense personnel, facilities and interests worldwide.

 

Counterintelligence Officers perform in several functional areas at DIA, including:

 

  • Support of DIA operations and activities by detecting and neutralizing our adversaries’ attempts to gather information.
  • Analysis of foreign intelligence and security services’ capabilities and activities.
  • Management of counterintelligence (CI) security, force protection and CI analytical programs and products.
  • Cooperation with other DoD entities and US national-level and foreign government agencies in protecting our nation’s secrets.

 

 


Job Requirements 

Required Experience:  Qualified candidates bring with them to DIA relevant experience and/or a bachelor’s or advanced degree in political science, regional studies, international affairs, geography, economics, engineering, or physical or life sciences from an accredited college or university; or knowledge in another appropriate area. Foreign language skills are highly desired. Candidates must also have:

 

  • The expertise to develop logical thoughts into well-written documents such as studies, reports, instructions and guides.
  • A strong ability to identify, collate and evaluate data; absorb and synthesize the information; and draw logical, interpretable, useful conclusions
  • General knowledge of, and familiarity with, current national and international affairs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to convey ideas fully, accurately and intelligibly in discussions, briefings and other presentations.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, professional ethics and self-motivation.
  • The flexibility and freedom to serve anywhere in the world, as required, on a moment’s notice.
  • Familiarity with automated systems and tools.
  • The flexibility to travel frequently for temporary duty, including overseas, and to be on call whenever needed.

 

Required Education:  Baccalaureate degree or higher from an accredited college or university in political science, regional studies, international affairs, geography, economics, engineering, or physical or life sciences or knowledge in another appropriate area.
