Join RMD’s Material Science Group and support crystal growth in a state of the art, cutting edge laboratory that combines materials research and commercialization. In this job you will support organic synthesis and crystal growth and take responsibility for the construction of equipment and maintenance of research facilities.
Candidates must have experience growing organic crystals from solution.
Job duties will include:
· Chemical synthesis of organic compounds
· Crystal growth of organic/inorganic compounds
· Design and construction of equipment
· Sawing, polishing, and packaging of crystals
· Maintenance of inventory chemicals and general laboratory supplies
· Keeping accurate records of data

Requirements
You must be detailed oriented and used to work on multiple projects simultaneously. In addition, you should have the following background and experiences:
· Chem. Eng./Chemistry, BS or MS, and 2+ years experience in Chemistry or Materials Science
· Experience in organic synthesis
· Experience in a crystal growth
· Experience with design and construction of equipment (i.e. SolidWorks)
· Assembly, maintenance and operation of custom and vacuum systems
· Strong mechanical and electrical skills
