Manager, Salon Operations and Training

ULTA has experienced consistent growth, and will continue to expand into new markets with new stores in 2009. Our corporate office in Bolingbrook, IL, houses more than 400 professionals in the functional areas of: merchandising, marketing, inventory management, finance, supply chain/logistics, human resources, IT, and real estate.
Presently we are seeking a Manager of Salon Operations and Training to ensure salon sales, contribution and payroll objectives are met.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES

Partner with the Vice President of Store Operations in identifying market opportunities to deliver top and bottom line sales including; assessment of District Manager and Salon Market Trainer developmental needs, traveling to stores and providing coaching and feedback about store execution of business building strategies, scheduling and evaluation of salon professional development plans, standards, deliverables and salon business acumen.

Partner with Vice President of Store Operations to develop salon business action plans, including District Manager responsibilities and deployment of Salon Market Trainer to deliver efficiencies, sales and contribution.

Develop, implement, and train field leadership on best practices to deliver salon sales and contribution.

Develop Salon Operations succession planning

Responsible for the annual review process of the Salon Market Trainers and Salon Business Development Regional Trainers in conjunction with District Managers and General Managers.

Pilot service protocols and sale event strategies including new operation processes and new service pilots/launches.

Support underperforming and grand opening markets with business development training as needed.

Conduct on boarding and training for District Managers and General Managers assimilating to the salon business

Development of quarterly business building strategies and tools to ensure the strategies are implemented nationally in an effective manner, within budget and deliver the agreed upon ROI.

Conduct classes, “train the trainer" sessions and development days as required by the ULTA salons.

Communicate with District Managers and VPs to ensure that the training programs delivered are effective in improving the business skills and/or knowledge of all levels of store/salon management.

Conduct all trainings and salon classes.

Maintain the proper equipment as required by the class topic and ensure cleanliness complies with all laws per State Board requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
-
Must live in a major market where ULTA operations or be willing to relocate to Chicago (preferred).

Ability to travel 50-75% required.

10+ years of multi-unit salon operations experience (required). Regional management experience (preferred).

Experience owning a P&L and delivering initiatives to deliver sales and margin.

3+ years of salon training experience (required).

Experience facilitating/delivering training to various audience sizes. Developed and polished presentation skills.

Ability to deliver training to various size audiences and coach salon management on operational and business acumen to achieve results.

Excellent writing skills; including field communication and operational excellence strategies

Undergraduate degree preferred.
