Description PURPOSE: Leads in the strategic direction and daily operation of Aviva Investors North America (AINA) compensation programs including  base pay and short- and long-term incentives; ensures market competitiveness and integration with global Aviva Investors compensation programs. Leads Company HR Reporting and metrics functions; partners with Aviva North America (ANA) in the development and implementation of Human Resources Information Management Systems. Provides oversight of Company’s internal HR-related risk management policies.

Liaises with Aviva Investors Global Rewards, ANA Total Rewards, HRIS and Payroll and Company needs, priorities and deliverables.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1.   Leads the development of compensation strategies, philosophies, policies and programs which:

a. provide internal equity

b.incorporate external competitiveness

c. motivate and reward performance

d.comply with Federal, State and local regulations

e. attract and retain talent

f. drive company strategy and business objectives

2.   Manages the design, development and administration of base pay strategies, policies and programs including:

a. job evaluation

b.market pricing

c. salary survey participation

d.salary grades and ranges

e. salary grade assignments

f. performance based pay increases

g.promotional pay increases

h. market adjustments

3.   Oversees the design and administration of the company's short-term and long-term incentive plans coordinating those activities with Aviva Investors Global Rewards, Aviva North America and Aviva plc Human Resources.

4.   Provides consultative services to management and HR Business Partners on diverse compensation matters including resolution of pay issues, interpretation of compensation policies, communication of State and Federal regulations and the determination of compensation (base & incentive) for each position.

5.   Leads in the design, development and implementation of automated HR solutions and reporting to support strategic AINA business and HR initiatives:

a. partner with Aviva North America (ANA) in the development and implementation of automated systems and tools

b.ensure AINA employee data integrity

c. manage the development and implementation of AINA- specific automated systems and tools to address unique needs of the organization

d.streamline work processes, systems solutions and administrative processes

e. provide quality, comprehensive reporting and HR metrics

f. minimize redundancy, errors and lost documentation

g.improve communication

h. provide quicker access

i.  ensure accurate and timely reporting to Global HRIS and Rewards

6.   Oversees the company’s HR-related risk management policies including the People, Environment, and Corporate Social Responsibility policies. Measures and manages controls for each.

7.   Maintains Company job profile library including responsibility for providing consultative services to HR Business Partners and managers on the proper development of job descriptions.

8.   Oversees the completion of Human Resource special projects by providing project management services as requested.

Requirements QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Eight or more (8+) years of Human Resources experience in compensation and HR systems/reporting, preferably in the financial services industry. Prior managerial experience beneficial.

Experience designing and administering compensation programs such as executive compensation, management incentives, base pay, sales commissions, job evaluation, etc.

Experience designing and developing automated HR solutions in support of compensation, HR administration, HR reporting, etc.

 

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

1.     Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels in an organization.

2.     Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations governing compensation practices and programs.

3.     Very strong attention to numeric and other detail.

4.     Compensation and performance management consulting skills.

5.     Business acumen including broad understanding of asset/investment management, general insurance business and/or financial services industry.

6.     Demonstrated record of leading and implementing compensation strategy and transformational change

7.     Experience operating within a matrixed, multi-site environment

8.     Strong customer focus – internal and external

9.     Skilled in the use of Excel and other Microsoft suite programs.

10.  Strong presentation skills.
