Description Under the general direction of audit management, manages and performs professional-level audit work to assist the Board of Directors and management by independently reviewing programs, activities, and resources for which the Airport Board is accountable and by communicating results useful for increasing accountability and ensuring efficient, effective, and ethical management practices. Become familiar with the basics of DFW Airport's Environmental Management System & Environmental Policy and implement Best Management & Good Housekeeping Practices.
Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in auditing in one or more of the following fields:
    • 1. Construction Auditing
    • 2. Financial/Operational Auditing
    • 3. External Auditing
  • Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Specific experience requirement may be designated by the department.
  • Certification as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
  • Specific certification may be designated by the department.
  • Two (2) years of experience programming and directing audits.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting theory.
  • Knowledge of the techniques, tests and sampling methods involved in conducting audits.
  • Knowledge of computer-oriented accounting and auditing recordkeeping systems.
  • Knowledge of organizational theory and design.
  • Skill in the use of microcomputers in conducting audit activities.
  • Skill in the designing of forms to be used in auditing activities.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and evaluate facts and to prepare and present concise oral and written reports.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, including the ability to interview persons to extract information of a politically sensitive nature.
  • Ability to supervise and motivate a group of professional and clerical subordinates and to direct their activities in accomplishing the goals of the Department of Audit Services.
