Job Description

The Cato Corporation, a leading specialty retailer of value-priced women’s fashion apparel, is currently seeking an experienced Director of Oracle Financial Applications and Oracle Programmer/Senior Programmer Analysts for our Corporate Office in Charlotte, North Carolina.  

 

Director of Oracle Financial Applications
This position provides support of production business applications with appropriate policies, procedures, standards and metrics. This role is responsible for responsible for development and support of financial production applications; ensuring all new applications conform to standards prior to turn over to production; project planning, status reporting and leadership; staff development; vendor relationship management; contract negotiation; and RFP preparation and evaluation; business analysis and process improvement; requirements definition; application design; package upgrade management; and test planning.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or IS / IT with 10 to 15 years of relevant work experience.
  • Process oriented, yet aware of technologies supporting the application.  Technologies including but not limited to the Operating System (AIX, Linux), Middleware (Application Server, Weblogic, Fusion components), Database (11g), Development frameworks (OAF, ADF, Forms, OBIEE / BI Publisher, Reports).
  • Experience in leading Business Process Reengineering.
  • Strong facilitation and negotiation skills are essential.  Should be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, elevating team results over individual results.
  • Good operational experience; supporting and maintaining applications, and implementing enhancements.  Ideally should have experience working with Oracle support and sales team in issues creation, escalation and resolution.  Should also have experience in patch application, testing and migration.
  • Should be able to communicate effectively with business stake-holders, Senior Management and IT peer groups. 
  • Accounting / Finance and IT background with at least two end-to-end Oracle Financials and several upgrade implementation experience (preferably in procure-to-pay modules) would be ideal. 
  • At least two years of hands-on working experience with R12 (R12.1.3) is preferred. 
  • Hands on configuration, development and deployment experience would be ideal.

 


Oracle Programmer/Senior Programmer Analysts

The Oracle Programmer/Senior Programmer Analyst position will be part of a team responsible for new application development and/or improving existing applications to meet the changing needs of our business. Specific assignments may include application design and development, coding for enhancements and fixes, testing, maintenance and support. This role may also lead small teams for a specific project.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in software programming or application development.
  • 3+ years of experience in implementing and / or upgrading Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10.2 or R12.
  • Significant experience with Oracle database 10g/11g and development tools like PL/SQL, SQL, Oracle Application Framework (OAF) or Application Development Framework (ADF), BI / XML Publisher, Forms 10g /11g and Reports 10g/11g.
  • Significant experience in developing java based SOA applications, preferably utilized JDeveloper to extend OAF pages.
  • Functional understanding of procure to pay process flow is desirable.  Should be able to relate process flows to data model and structures. 
  • Prior experience using structured methodology, preferably AIM, RICE, CEMLI, or OUM.
  • Advanced knowledge of application design principles, practices, systems development and analysis
  • Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle; familiarly to scrum or Agile is desirable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills that non-technical end users can understand
  • Ability to build positive and professional business relationships with internal and external clients.

  • Oracle E-Business Suite, Financial modules – 11.5.10.2 or R12.
  • Oracle Application Framework Personalization and Extension

    Oracle JDeveloper and / or Eclipse
  • XML / BI Publisher
  • Oracle – SQL, PL/SQL
  • Oracle Forms, Reports 10g or 11g
  • Java 5 (J2EE) , Java Server Pages/Servlets
  • HTML, XML, XSL
  • Programming in AIX, Unix, Linux environment.
