The Art Institute of Indianapolis – Career Services Advisor

 

The Art Institute of Indianapolis, located at the Pyramids, fills a unique niche. We provide post-secondary education to students seeking Associates and Bachelors degrees leading to careers in graphic design, animation, web design, fashion, interior design, photography, and culinary arts. We are seeking an experienced, motivated professional with a proven track record for the position of Career Services Advisor.  This person will assume full responsibility for meeting the employment and salary goals of graduates assigned by preparing graduates for the job search process, developing employment opportunities for graduates through various creative and well established techniques, and building strong relationships with industry professionals within Indianapolis, the Midwest and other geographic preferences of graduates. The Career Services Advisor must maintain detailed employment information and file maintenance on graduates.

 

Job Requirements

Successful candidates will possess:

1.      A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.

2.      A minimum of 2 years experience in a recruiting/placement or Human Resources capacity.

3.      Excellent communication skills, including proven sales/persuasive abilities and the ability to build successful relationships with employers and students.

4.      A proven ability to perform at high level in a goal oriented environment including experience in meeting quotas and achieving expected performance metrics.

5.      Ability to prioritize work, perform well under pressure, and to meet frequently occurring deadlines.

6.      Excellent organization and analytical skills.

7.      High comfort level working within a computerized environment

8.      Proven public speaking and presentation skills.

9.      Enthusiasm, passion and initiative.

10.  The ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, exercising sound judgment.  Must excel in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
