Description  Supports the Regional Collateral Manager by conducting collateral verification reviews in accordance with Bank policy.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

 
  • Prepares or participates in the preparation of in-depth evaluation of all loan collateralpledged to the Bank, including residential loans, multi-family loans, commercial realestate loans, and Heloc/ second mortgage loans using the Bank's format of eligibilitymethodology to estimate loan quality and eligibility, and to ensure compliance with Bank policy, procedures, and regulations.
  • Participates in the development, design, enhancement, and maintenance of comprehensive financial spreadsheets, models, and form templates to facilitate the analysis and monitoring of the Bank's collateral.
  • Reviews the work of the third-party contractors and other support staff, and provides directional leadership regarding delegation and prioritization of work as it relates to the on-site collateral verification reviews.
  • Prepares reports for senior management regarding member institutions with pledged assets in order for management to make collateral-based lending decisions.
  • Interacts with member institutions daily regarding the eligibility of various assets as collateral and provides members with basic guidelines and interpretation of the Bank's collateral policies.
  • Conducts exit meetings with senior management of member institutions summarizing on-site collateral verification review findings.

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 
  • Assists management in formulating decisions regarding interpretation of Bank policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Assists in the development, design, enhancement, and maintenance of financial spreadsheets, models, and form templates to facilitate the analysis and monitoring of the Bank's collateral.
  • Assists in the research and preparation of reports on current industry conditions and economic conditions in the Bank's district and on the secondary mortgage industry for residential, commerciaL home equity lines of credit, and second mortgage loans.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or real estate, a minimum of four years of work
  • Experience in a banking/lending environment or the secondary market with specific experience in mortgage banking, commercial real estate underwriting, loan documentation, appraisal review, due diligence, and cash flow analysis and modeling, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
  • Ability to develop financial spreadsheets, models, and form templates IS required. A thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is required.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Position will require a minimum of 80 percent overnight travel.
