Summary of Direct Endorsement
Profolio Home Loan is seeking an Underwriter with
designations of Direct Endorsement to support loan originations. You will work with the best people, great technology, and represent an excellent program.
This position will report to the Head of Operations and will be responsible for underwriting and appraising loan origination to meet all regulations defined by the government and secondary market. You should be abreast with current underwriting practices and assist in updating the bank’s underwriting policies.
You will interact with loan officers, internal operations team members and senior management to ensure completion of the files and maintaining compliances as required. You will be responsible in providing training and direction to company underwriters as required.
This position will be based at our office in San Antonio, TX.
Responsibilities of Direct Endorsement
- You will be responsible for reviewing all government and/or conventional loan originations received for accuracy and completeness.
- You will underwrite credit and appraisal package to meet criteria, governmental insuring agencies, and the secondary market.
- You are expected to verify the applications for correctness of information, by cross referencing all figures appearing in the application.
- You will be responsible to complete decision and closing documents within the service level agreements for turn around timeframes.
- You will participate in management of overall credit risk to assure quality of files which include limitation of risk.
- You will also be responsible for all areas of compliance and technical requirements, and ensure that they are within the guidelines of the secondary market and government loan standards.
Requirements
Direct Endorsement
Requirements for Direct Endorsement :
- Qualified candidates are required to have a minimum of 5 years experience as a multi-state mortgage underwriter in the mortgage banking environment with designations of Direct Endorsement (DE) Bilingual Spanish.
- Nationwide underwriting experience preferred.
- You should have a background in retail Conforming, Non-Conforming, FHA and VA underwriting, and exposure at national level will be preferred.
- Candidates should have a strong understanding of credit risk, program guidelines and AUS engines such as LP/DU and should posses the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
- The candidate should have bilingual language skills and the flexibility to support in processing loans when required.
Communication:
This position will communicate with several key individuals within the Mortgage Vertical like loan officers, internal operations team members and senior management.
