Process Engineer


Rmax is a leading manufacturer of polyisocyanurate rigid foam insulation products for the building materials industry.   The company was founded in 1978 and is headquartered in Dallas.  Our Nevada plant is seeking a Process Engineer to fill a vital position performing a variety of engineering and management functions.  This definitely offers growth opportunities in a very stable work environment.        

 

Job Summary

 

Conduct and oversee various engineering related duties in a chemical manufacturing process environment.  Understand the nuances of the process and provide recommendations for quality and cost improvements.  Oversee production department (10 people) and provide backup to the Plant Manager.  Work in conjunction with 2-3 other engineers in trouble-shooting and resolving process problems.  Help research and coordinate capital improvements.  Have a significant involvement in plant safety and environmental compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

 

 

 

Process Engineering: 

  • Establish all Process Standards.               

  • Supervise the production process from start to finish.

  • Coordinate with corporate technical; conduct plant production trials.  

  • Monitor material costs for production reporting requirements.

  • Research and implement process improvements through better training, equipment modifications and raw material utilization. 

Quality Control:

  • Supervise Quality Control Technician and oversee lab operations.
  • Review and analyze all sampling and physical testing results.

 

Safety and Environmental:

  • Advise and assist the Plant Manager in complying with all regulatory requirements – training, documentation, inspections, reporting, etc.

 Plant Engineering:

  • Advise and support the Plant Engineer in researching and developing plant-wide improvements with equipment, controls, capital budgets, etc.

 Qualifications:       
  • Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or other appropriate technical degree required
  • Knowledge of control systems beneficial ·
  •  Supervisory experience important
  • Experience with RMP/PSM a plus
