Technology Center (Downtown Indianapolis Campus) – T135

 

  • Many day, some evening and weekend classes available depending on program needs.
  • On-line classes may be available, depending on the program. 
  • · Internal On-line Certification program required to be completed prior to teaching on- line courses.
  • This is a school specific job fair – only faculty representing the specific areas below will be present.  If you have other areas of interest, or you cannot attend the job fair, please apply on line to jobs.ivytech.edu.  You will ONLY be contacted if there is mutual interest and a need based on student enrollment.
  • Please  note in requirements below – ‘graduate credit hours’ means classes taken at the masters level.

 

Health Sciences:

  • Anatomy: Day and late afternoon to early evening classes/labs available:   Masters degree in Anatomy  or Masters degree in related field with 18 graduate hours in Anatomy and Physiology courses.  College teaching experience preferred.

 

School of Public Services:

  • Human Services:  Master’s Degree in a Human Services related area (Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy) and at least three years full-time post-Master’s experience.

 

School of Business:

  • Computer Information Sciences:

a) Possesses an earned master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in computer information systems, management information systems, information technology, computer science or a computer-related degree as appropriate to the course and/or specialty being taught; or

b) Possesses a related or out-of-field master’s degree, from a regionally accredited

institution, with documented 18 semester hours or equivalent of courses in a

business, mathematics, or engineering-related field as appropriate to

the course and/or specialty being taught beyond the introductory principle(s)

level; or

c) Possesses a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, engineering, or business/computer related field from a regionally accredited institution as appropriate to the course

and/or specialty being taught with documentation in two or more areas of:

  • Professional certification (national, regional, or state) in the field
  • Two years of in-field professional employment
  • Documented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award
  • Documentation of research and publication in the field
  • Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree,
  • equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework,
  •  CEU’s, vendor, or military.

 

 

Community Campuses:

  • Geography: A qualified faculty member in geography is one who has an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in geography, or a master's with 18 graduate semester hours in geography-related courses.
  • Anthropology: A qualified faculty member in anthropology is one who has an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in anthropology, or a master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in anthropology.
  • Spanish:  A qualified faculty member in Spanish is one who has an earned master’s or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in Spanish language or
  • Spanish literature; or a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Spanish language or Spanish literature; or is a native speaker of Spanish with a master’s degree and the equivalent of two years postsecondary teaching experience.
  • French: A qualified faculty member in French is one who has an earned master’s or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in French language or French literature; or a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in French language or literature courses; or is a native speaker of French with a master’s degree and the equivalent of two years post secondary teaching experience.

 

For Shelbyville Community Campus Site

 

·Academic Advancement Math: A qualified faculty member teaching academic skills advancement mathematics is one who has an earned baccalaureate or higher degree in mathematics from a regionally accredited institution or a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of nine hours of college-level

mathematics or mathematics intensive courses.

·Academic Advancement English:

Writing:  A qualified faculty member teaching academic skills advancement writing is one who has an earned baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in English or a related area, with a minimum of nine hours at the college level in composition and/or rhetoric.

Reading:  is one who has an earned baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in education or in a related field with experience in teaching of reading.

 

·Computer Information Systems: **see qualifications under School of Business

 

Liberal Arts courses at Shelbyville:

  • Communications – MS in discipline to be taught or MS with 18 graduate credit hours in communications or speech related courses
  • Sociology – MS in discipline to be taught or MS in with 18 graduate credit hours in sociology or related courses
  • English - Requirements: A qualified faculty member is one who has an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in English, or a master's degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in English or courses related to the writing process. Faculty with a master’s degree in secondary education with a concentration in discipline can be determined to have met the requirement  if the individual has 12 graduate credits in the field and 12 undergraduate credits in the field at the 300- and 400-level. This applies to general education courses that are 100-level only.
  • Math - A qualified faculty member in mathematics is one who has an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in mathematics; or a master's degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in mathematics-related courses. Faculty with a master’s degree in secondary education with a concentration in English can be determined to have met the requirement if the individual has 12 graduate credits in the field and 12 undergraduate credits in the field at the 300- and 400-level. This applies to general education courses that are 100-level only.

 

School of Technology:

  • Microbiology and Biotechnology/Biology:  MS in Biology, Biochemistry or Microbiology
  • Automotive:  BS degree required in related area
  • Advanced Mfg.:  BS degree in Technology or Engineering  (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical,    Electro-Mechanical) or related field  minimum for both programs. Teaching Experience is required. Experience in CNC, robotics and PLC’s is a plus. 
  • Machine Tool Technology:  BS degree in Technology or Engineering  (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical) or related field  minimum for both programs. Teaching Experience is required.  Need CNC programming, specifically in Unigraphics, Mastercam and Autocad. 

 

 

Workforce and Economic Development:

Instructor for Biotech/ Bioprocess Manufacturing Entry Level Worker training

• Daytime availability

• M.S. or higher degree in Biology, Biochemistry or Molecular Biology or equivalent experience.

•Experience should include industrial experience in biotechnology.

 

GED/ABE Instructor

•Prior GED/ABE experience necessary

•Prior work in the jail system preferred

 

SAT & ACT Prep Instructor

•Bachelor’s with teaching experience required.

 

Project Management Professional Instructor

•Project Management Professional certification

•Prior project management teaching experience preferred

 

Photography Instructor

•Bachelor’s degree required

•Prior teaching or experience in adult education/training highly preferred

•Event photography experience (such as sports or weddings) highly preferred

 

Web Design/Dreamweaver Instructor

•Bachelor’s degree required

•Prior teaching or experience in adult education/training highly preferred

•Must have strong working knowledge of Dreamweaver, and HT
