Mechanical Engineer 4
Seeking a highly adaptable, innovative Mechanical Design Engineer that wants to be part of a growing team in the Semiconductor capital equipment industry.
This position requires close collaboration with Software and Process Engineers. Good communication skills is a must.
Primary job function involves cutting edge Mechanical Engineering activities; designs and analyzes mechanical systems, equipment and packaging. Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation.
KNOWLEDGE: Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures. Candidate should have a wide range of design experience enabling them to use professional concepts to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
JOB COMPLEXITY: Position involves working on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Requires exercising judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
SUPERVISION: Work closely with a small group of engineers with frequent design reviews and brainstorms. Determine methods and procedures on new assignments, and may provide guidance to other personnel.
EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience.
-Accomplished in 3D CAD, preferably NX or Pro-E
-Ability to rapidly generate design concepts and subsequent detail drawings using NX, or Pro-E
-Demonstrated ability in various areas of mechanical engineering: Heat transfer / Thermodynamics, Sheetmetal including large frames, Plastics fabrication, Materials, Vibrations, Dynamics, Fluids, Stress/Strain. Chemistry knowledge a plus
-Demonstrated ability to lead design reviews.
-Excellent analysis and trouble-shooting skills. An independent problem-solver, not afraid to challenge the status-quo. Experience with FMEA is a plus.
-Extensive experience with machined component design.
-System level integration experience (preferably with wafer processing equipment).
-Familiarity with particle defect control measures.
-Familiarity with SEMI standards.
-BSME required. MSME or higher a plus.
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
