Del Monte Foods is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager for the Topeka Manufacturing Plant. Previous operations and maintenance management experience in a manufacturing plant is required. This position will provide leadership to the maintenance department and all maintenance activities that maximize production reliability and flexibility while improving product quality and lowering total delivered cost. Additional responsibilities of this position will be to: Develop and train personnel to improve technical abilities through the organization. Procure the best value technical services from outside vendors when necessary. Ensure a safe working environment by supporting plant safety improvement and awareness efforts while complying with all applicable corporate, state, and federal regulatory guidelines. Lead the coordination and prioritization of maintenance activities for facilities, processing, packaging, and warehouse equipment to maximize equipment reliability and allow for maximum production efficiency. Lead Lean Manufacturing efforts that are focused on the maintenance department and support the production area in their efforts. Ensure consistency across all three shifts in the maintenance department by maintaining adherence to the established best practices and procedures. Provide tactical planning, directing and coordination of day to day activities as well as long range planning for the continued growth of the department.
Exceptional verbal and written communication, analytical, organizational, project management, strategic planning, and computer skills required. Excellent knowledge of food manufacturing standards, Lean manufacturing, and government regulations required. Thorough knowledge of power and control systems including high voltage supply preferred. Background in extrusion technology preferred. This position requires a Degree in Engineering (ME, EE, IE, or ChemE), or in a related field of study. The incumbent should possess 10 – 15 years of related maintenance experience.
