Overview & Responsibilities
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for planning, developing, and running our online testing and website optimization programs. Collaborates closely with site management, business intelligence, design, and content teams to plan, build, measure and ultimately improve online experiences.
JOB COMPLEXITY: Analyzes website visitor behavior and partners with business managers, designers and developers to identify opportunities to improve website pathing and increase signups. Builds and manages A/B testing calendar for Rackspace.com. Scopes, prioritizes, manages, and analyzes testing projects, evaluating them based on opportunity and effort. Partners with Analytics and Development teams to provide guidance on programming A/B tests using testing platform. Develops monthly testing program reports to distribute across the web team. Runs weekly A/B testing and triages A/B test requests. Works with Web Analytics team to to analyze changes to the site and measure results. Acts as a liason between key stakeholders, sharing feedback and information regarding site optimization and testing. Applies industry best practices, intuition, and rigorous testing methodologies to optimize our site.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY: Strong knowledge of A/B testing and MVT testing tools and best practices, in addition to good project management skills. Expertise in website testing and optimization processes and tools. Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills. Proven web analytics skills. Fundamental understanding of user experience, web design, and site optimization. Solid understanding of interactive marketing channels (search, online media, website development, etc.) and direct marketing principles. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communiation skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing work to meet competing deadlines from multiple stakeholders. Ability to communicate technical info and ideas so others will understand. Ability to work and promote inclusiveness in small groups.
SUPERVISION: Operates independently with overall results appraised largely on the efficient and effective attainment of goals and objectives.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in business, statistics, marketing, or related field preferred. 5+ years of online marketing and/or testing and optimization experience.
