AECOM's Design + Planning practice offers a holistic approach to guide responsible and productive use of the land. Duties:
The candidate should have an interest in working on complex projects located throughout northern and central California. The successful applicant will provide supporting and leadership roles in fisheries and aquatic ecology technical work and projects involving fisheries sampling programs and surveys, ecological restoration, resource management planning, biological impact analysis for CEQA,  NEPA, and ESA documents; and coordination with clients and regulatory agencies.
Projects will involve innovative mitigation and conservation planning; multi-disciplinary teamwork with biologists, planners, landscape architects, and restoration ecologists; and creative integration of natural resource analysis and project design. Exciting opportunities exist on projects involving fisheries and aquatic ecology; watershed assessment and management; aquatic habitat restoration and enhancement; aquatic bio assessment; land use, water supply, and wastewater planning; flood control and levee setbacks; comprehensive natural resource planning for local, state, and federal agencies; water rights applications and other regulatory/permit proceedings; planning studies related to water supply and treatment infrastructure; and CEQA, NEPA, and ESA compliance for all of the above.
Skill Requirements:
Candidates must have expertise and training in relevant disciplines (fisheries, aquatic ecology), as well as interest/training in one or more related disciplines (water quality, hydrology, stream restoration, watershed planning, population modeling, statistics, natural resources management, and Endangered Species Act analyses). Candidates should be detail-oriented and have the capability to understand complex issues related to aquatic ecology. Experience with northern and central California aquatic environments is preferred (e.g., Sierra Nevada, Central Valley, Delta, North/Central Coast). Excellent communication and writing skills are a must. 
Experience Requirements:
5 to 10 years of prior consulting experience is preferred, but non-consultant candidates with relevant experience are encouraged to apply as well.
Education:
Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in fisheries biology, aquatic ecology, or related field is required.
