EDI Analyst III

Our Anoka, MN location is seeking an EDI Analyst III to add to our team. The EDI Analyst III would be responsible for communicating with trading partners, testing and implementing Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) documents using knowledge of standards and business systems, conducting tests and enabling trading partners to send and receive EDI documents, processing failed documents, troubleshooting problems including communication, failures and issues and working with trading partners to resolve EDI issues.
Manage (and conduct as required) the daily processing of EDI transactional activity between company systems and trading partners.
Investigate, troubleshoot, escalate and facilitate resolution of day-to-day issues.
Establish, document, and maintain EDI procedures: including management of document repository, identification of errors and corrective action, reconciliation of EDI transactions through coordination of information with system exceptions messaging, and internal/external customers.
Conduct regular audits of EDI transactions to determine accuracy.
Maintain a catalog of retailer vendor guides, including routing, shipping compliance and product development guides.- Maintain EDI systems current with all trading partner and product data required to correctly process transactions in accordance with system and customer compliance requirements.
Efficient and timely processing of incoming and outgoing EDI messages including customer/supplier connections.
Monitor and administer the EDI system/application including creating new connections and internal reporting.
Setup and maintain test data, conduct unit testing and provide documentation for all EDI system and trading partner implementations (new/changes).
Setup and maintain adequate environments for the testing and promotion to production of trading partner and platform implementations.
Identify systems problems and communicate with internal and external customers to assess impact and arrive at a solution.
Manage (and conduct as required) the correction and retranslation of any EDI documents that fail during translation
Efficient and effective coordination with other functional areas as required to implement and maintain EDI-based business relationships and activity (Finance, Distribution, Sales, Customer Service, Enterprise/ERP Applications, etc.).
Education and Experience Requirements:
- 4-year degree in technology or business required.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of EDI experience, “Big Box” retail industry required.
- Strong understanding of ASC X12 EDI standards and e-business, knowledge of EDI translation, communication, and interface environments
- Strong background required in mapping standard manufacturing industry EDI X12 transactions, including but not limited to 810, 850, 855, 856, 860, 864, 865, 824, 830, 997, etc
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and resolving operational EDI issues with trading partners.
- Experience with Data Masons Vantage Point EDI platform (strongly preferred), with other EDI “mappers” expected
- Strong background in XML file format and tagging – how to read and manipulate XML files.
- Moderate background in use of relational database (T-SQL) to create/use queries, look-ups, inserts, etc. for data analysis, trouble-shooting, and reporting.
