As one of the nation�s largest dental distributors, Patterson�s complete product offering includes consumable dental supplies, digital technology and virtually all dental equipment in the dental office, including practice management and clinical software. We provide a full complement of value-added services, including equipment repair and equipment financing, as well as inventory management solutions. Our sales representatives are directly responsible for initiating and coordinating sales within the dental community.

Patterson Dental seeks talented sales professionals with successful business-to-business sales experience. We are seeking candidates who have relationship-building skills and can be a consultant to our clients and identify the product needs of dentists and their staff.

General Responsibilities:

Regularly calls on dental offices within a defined sales territory to achieve sales, build and maintain relationships and further develop established accounts, while continually growing and developing new accounts to increase market penetration.

Our sales representatives use a variety of sales methods, from traditional cold calls and social activities, to conducting technical seminars, in-service sessions and sales and educational programs. As a full-service, value-added company, our representatives go beyond selling product. We build lasting relationships with dentists and their staffs. We review the needs of our clientele, develop short- and long-term business goals and action plans, and seek to do what is best for our doctors by helping them plan and grow their business.

This position will require you to be driven, self-motivated, goal-oriented and willing to receive guidance and direction, as you are the primary link to our clients.
Requirements
  • Proven successful track record in business-to-business sales, relationship-building and high level of customer service
  • Analytical skills in finance, business needs, trends, competition and product use
  • Excellent time management, ability to be flexible and adjust schedule to needs of clients and branch, and ability to arrange schedule to maximize market penetration
  • Ability to identify specific objectives or outcomes for sales negotiations and to close sales
  • High level of responsibility and accountability and sense of urgency with client follow-up and follow-through; taking a sale or project from conception to completion
  • Ability to learn quickly; understand products, services and technical details; and research and understand customer needs
  • Ability and desire to move to a full commission plan
  • Four-year degree and/or either 3 plus years of Business to Business sales or 3 plus years in the dental industry.
  • Knowledge of Windows-based software applications
  • Valid driver�s license and good driving record
  • Candidate must live in the Temple, Waco or Killeen area.

    Patterson provides training on products and proven sales techniques.
