Senior VP of Quality Assurance
Job Description


Partial Job Description


1) Create an environment conducive to continuous quality improvement and implement systems to nurture quality excellence


2) Manage, develop, establish and maintain quality assurance programs, systems, policies, processes, procedures and controls, ensure that performance and quality of products conform to establish standards and industry requirements to ensure customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance


3) Review, evaluate and approve deviation and Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAS)


4) Provide guidance to staff on the resolution of testing issues, discrepancies and Out of Specifications (OOS), investigations and Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAS)


5) Develop an overall quality vision, setting quality goals and recommend changes for the set of goals


6) Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization


7) Set compliance objectives and ensure targets


8) Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation


9) Maintain awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues


10) Assess and assist in the development of the product specifications


11) Work with the Sourcing Department to establish quality requirements from suppliers


12) Define quality procedures in conjunction with internal stakeholders


13) Implement and maintain controls and documentation procedures


14) Collect and analyze performance data and charts against define parameters


15) Establish and ensure policy throughout the manufacturing enterprise for the adherence to FDA, SQF and all other government agencies in which business conduct


16) Ensure tests and procedures properly understood, carried out and evaluate


17) Investigate product modifications


18) Serve as liaison between the company and various suppliers and governmental agencies to ensure the execution of corrective and preventative actions in compliance with specifications as well as industry regulations


19) Participate in product and process improvement projects with R&D, Production and Sales and Marketing Teams


20) Manage HACCP program, including FDA inspections


21) Direct quality systems as they pertain to new business and product development


22) Coach and develop staff by provide an environment that encourages, innovation, ongoing personal and professional development


23) Ensure staff receives appropriate knowledge and skill development for growth opportunities

Job Requirements


Qualifications / Skills Required


1) Bachelors degree in Food Science or a related discipline


2) CCOF/Organic certification experience


3) Certified in Better Process Control or Acidified Foods School/ HACCP certification


4) 10 years of experience in a food manufacturing lab or related job


5) Minimum 5 years of experience in managing the quality control function


6) 5+ years of work experience in a management position


7) Experienced in administering a GFSI program (BRC, SQF or IFS)


8) Very strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite and Gmail applications


9) Experienced with products that span a wide variety of processing parameters and facilities


10) Strong leadership and organizational skills


11) Excellent communicator both written and verbal


12) Experienced with continuous process improvements


13) Current on technical developments and regulations in the food industry


14) Highly organized and detail-oriented individual with demonstrated strong business communication and writing skills


15) Ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities


16) Ability to meet deadlines


17) Self-starter that is resourceful and innovative


18) Team player with a willingness to learn
