Medical Administrative Assoc

Under minimal supervision, coordinates appointments, handles multiple phone calls, charge enter exams, and reschedule/confirm appointments. May handle cash, coordinate, schedule and follow up on phases of a surgery procedure and/or specialty referral appointments. Provides exceptional customer service and maintains patient confidentiality. Demonstrates knowledge of computers. Demonstrates communication skills. Promotes professional behavior..Provides professional, friendly and courteous assistance to patients, employees and other visitors to the health care centers.

Greet and check in patients at the health care centers by verifying coverage and eligibility and completing appropriate paperwork, including collection of correct co-payment from patient.

Answer telephone in compliance with departmental procedures. Ascertain nature of call and route appropriately. If necessary, take accurate and legible messages.

Schedule appointments and verify membership according to various benefit coverage.

Reconciliation of cash transactions at the end of each shift, including processing and batching of charge tickets and preparation of bank deposits.

Handles customer service issues as necessary..

Requirements

High School Diploma or the equivalant

Medical terminology preferred.

One year customer service and PC skills required.

One year customer service in health care, preferrred.
