Job Description

The Medical Products Division and Deer Valley plant leadership team are seeking a proven engineer to provide leadership to the engineering associates in Deer Valley and to be a contributing member of the plant leadership team.  The responsibilities of this associate will include:
 
  • Provide appropriate technical guidance and project tracking to ensure timely flow of projects through manufacturing transfer and regulatory approvals
  • Provide daily support for engineering issues and questions and technical support for engineers
  • Support all operations in Deer Valley 
  • Assemble the appropriate engineering teams for product and process improvement efforts
  • Mediate to reach consensus between engineering, manufacturing and quality assurance
  • Provide "Product Line Leader" review
  • Drive project technical manufacturing plans and timelines
  • Support BU, OU, and Enterprise level decisions
  • With manufacturing leaders, ensure that manufacturing meets timelines and monthly build plans
  • Work with other members of the Plant Leadership Team to assure strong communication with Manufacturing and NPD leadership
  • Provide general leadership support for the facility with members of the Plant Leadership Team
  • Provide sponsorship, leadership and leadership development for technical associates
  • Provide technical guidance and training to team members to contribute to their ongoing development within GORE
  • Coordinate contribution and compensation process for engineering associates
  • Lead and facilitate communication within the technical team, as well as between the technical team and other functions
  • Champion best practices
  • Provide critical design and technical problem resolution.  Contribute technical expertise in day to day activities of product support
  • Balance the resource needs of the business with the development needs of the technical associates
  • Ensure product support is documented in accordance with GMP/FDA requirements
  • Align with and support the Stroke BU technical coordinator to promote the business priorities
  • Partner and integrate with other plant, BU, OU and divisional technical leaders.


Job Requirements

  • BS degree in engineering or technical field
  • 5 years of work experience in a technical field
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and sponsoring diverse teams
  • Experience handling multiple projects and priorities with competing resource needs, and meeting Medical Quality System requirements
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal 
  • The ability to partner broadly, flexibility, high level of motivation, strong work ethic, and excellent mentorship skills
  • Experience in the medical device industry especially product development
