Responsible for commercial loan approvals on a local basis. Serve as a resource for those transactions requiring Bank Senior Credit Officer and other related approval. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent financial services experience and education. 10 years of commercial credit or related experience. Completion of a formalized Credit Training Program is preferred. Broad knowledge of all credit disciplines and business strategy. Excellent communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Excellent analytical skills. Skilled in applicable computer software, e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Moodys, etc.
Responsible for credit approval, portfolio management, strategy and policy for Restaurant Banking Group based in Atlanta. The Restaurant Banking business is part of the Specialized Industries group in Business Services and is an active and growing segment that requires specialized skills and experience. The Restaurant Banking Senior Credit Officer will:
Provide leadership and guidance to the Restaurant Banking Executive, Relationship Managers, Credit Process Manager and Underwriters to mitigate the assessed risks of credit transactions and to influence the use of products and services to balance risk and return.
Participate and collaborate in annual and ongoing business planning to promote quality asset growth.
Effectively communicate to Restaurant Banking team regarding credit quality, portfolio concentrations, policy changes and industry trends.
Act as a coach/mentor in the development of the relationship team.
Be actively involved in large, complex relationships and provide guidance on due diligence, risk assessment/ratings, loan structure and documentation.
Exercise prudent use of authority in the approval of new loans, renewals and amendments to existing loans.
Utilize a practical approach to the enforcement of Loan Policy with the goal of developing and maintaining a quality portfolio.
Be actively involved in external contacts including customer negotiations, deteriorating credit situations, complex credit transactions and significant new business opportunities.
Aid relationship team in the prompt identification and handling of any problem credits within the portfolio.
Recommend, interpret and implement any Credit Policy changes and be an advocate for Credit Process involvement. Act as a change agent.
Champion risk rating accuracy within the business unit.
Direct and participate in all portfolio management functions.
Serve as primary contact for Credit Review.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Ten (10) years of commercial credit or related experience
- Restaurant Banking experience is preferred
- Completion of a formalized Credit Training Program is preferred.
- Must have demonstrated excellent communication skills; excellent organizational and time management skills; excellent analytical skills; leadership skills.
- Must be skilled in applicable computer software.
