JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • *Qualified Techs will possess a current ASCP/AMT certification***
  • **PCR, Flow cytometry, genotyping skills a plus*** PHD a plus

    Serve as the Technical Laboratory Specialist in the development of various support systems which will provide process

    improvements for the Laboratory department and other groups.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate and confirm third party lab results to ensure that laboratory results are reported accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Research and respond to pending reference laboratory result requests submitted by Project Services.

  • Interface with Lab Ops, Lab Support, Specimen Management and Project Services to accomplish efficient and complete processes of ordering, shipping and resulting third party laboratory tests.

    Good knowledge of clinical procedures used in the area of responsibility
  • Knowledge of good laboratory practices (GLP) and other regulatory agency standards within area of responsibility
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and practices including standard precautions and
    hazardous chemical handling
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrumentation and terminology used in the area of responsibility
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients
    MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master's or PHD degree * Applicable certifications and licenses as required by country, state, and/or other regulatory bodies
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work is performed in a laboratory environment, full manual dexterity and visual acuity required
  • May be exposed to potential physical harm from hazardous chemicals, infectious diseases, blood-borne pathogens, toxic
    materials, toxic gases, electrical hazards, dangerous tools and equipment

  • Associate's degree or educational equivalent in medical technology and 2 years relevant experience or equivalent
    combination of education, training and experience
