BD Human Resources Internship Program Workforce Administration


This position works closely with the Employee Master Data Specialist to provide support to internal customers concerning organizational management, positions, org units, reporting relationships, and downstream system interfaces and other technical and non-technical issues in North America (Canada, US and Puerto Rico). Interacts with the eHR Team, HR IT Team and the HR Community to address client needs and service level impacts.

Within the assigned area of responsibility (Organizational Management) and under the direction of the Specialist Team Leader and MD Specialist

  • Efficiently and effectively manages projects in support of the Master Data Specialist
  • Gains understanding of BD Master Data and Org Management to ensure data is maintained according to policy and system design
    • Creates and Maintains Organizational Management Data
    • Creates Org Units and Positions with the required attributes
    • Modifies Org Unit/Position attributes accordingly
    • Ensure that the integrity of the org structure is maintained through all requested changes
  • Audit the Relationships created between the organizational management objects
    • Organizational Unit to Organizational Unit
    • Organizational Unit to Position
    • Organizational Unit to Cost Center
    • Job to Position
    • Report and correct errors with local HR Partners
  • Provide guidance to the HR community as to how the org structure will be affected when an OM Form is processed
  • Ensure that all associate’s whose position is assigned to a placeholder cost center have a the associated MD transaction
  • Prepare and present findings to BD San Antonio Leadership Team; gain
    agreement on corrective action and /or continuous improvement activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • General knowledge of human resources theories and best practices
  • Progress towards a degree in Finance & Accounting, Business Administration, HR, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GPA minimum of 3.3
  • Prior internship/co-op experience
  • Basic SAP knowledge
