Outside Sales – Small Business Security Consultant

Job Description

If you are a highly competitive and personable individual who is interested in a sales career with an established and industry-leading company, join the CPI Security team. We provide a top line of custom-designed security systems that have kept families and businesses in the Southeast safe for more than 20 years. This role is responsible for securing sales of intrusion detection, fire alarm, access control, and CCTV surveillance systems to small to mid-size commercial customers less than 40,000 sq. ft. The market focus will be primarily multi-location chain businesses, specific vertical markets, and certain strategic businesses determined by management by using a combination of company-provided leads and self-generated leads via your own prospecting and networking efforts. This position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships, so this position requires high-energy, excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently and in a team.

Prior sales experience is preferred, but not required. We will provide you with 90 days of comprehensive training with some of the best sales reps in the industry to ensure your success with us. In addition, you will receive excellent training pay during your ramp-up period. Our generous, uncapped commission structure will allow you to earn anywhere from $45,000 to $65,000 or more during your first year. Whether you have sales experience or are just getting started in the business, this is a fantastic opportunity to earn a great commission-based income while providing a valuable service to our customers. Outside Sales Representative – Small Business Security Consultant

Job Requirements

As an Outside Sales Representative for our Small Business division, you must be a highly driven and motivated “hunter' type, with a strong work ethic, a high degree of integrity and an entrepreneurial and achievement-oriented attitude. You must also have strong time-management, organizational and prioritization abilities. It is also important that you display excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to quickly establish rapport and credibility with customers.

Specific qualifications for the Outside Sales Representative position for Small Business include:

  • High School degree or equivalent; some college, preferred
  • Previous sales experience preferred, but we will train the right individual
  • Good sales skills, particularly with strong upselling and closing abilities
  • Ability to generate leads via prospecting and networking
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to consistently meet and exceed sales quotas
  • Willingness and ability to learn
  • Ability to work effectively both on an individual basis and as part of a team
