Job Description

Software Testing Professionals!  Do you love to break things? The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct tests of internally developed and externally integrated software applications and administrative software applications.  The candidate will participate in projects and work closely with the other employees to perform the QA function to insure that the project conforms to the requirements set forth in the project specification documents.  The candidate will be required to review functional requirements to assess their impact on the software applications and formulate test cases.  The candidate will create written test plans and execute test cases.  Other tasks will include reporting defects and assisting developers in troubleshooting problems.
Primary Duties:
  • Participates in SDLC activities, such as design sessions, prototype review sessions;
  • Learns and understands the applications being supported;
  • Develops written/manual test plans, test cases and test scripts and maintains the test case inventory;
  • Prepares and maintains the test data;
  • Executes tests and compiles test logs or test results for reporting;
  • Identifies, reports and tracks defects and assist developers in defect resolution if necessary;
  • Coordinates the user acceptance test, including holding the user acceptance test kickoff  meeting and assist users during testing;
  • Develops and runs the regression test;
  • Contributes to continuous improvement of process;
  • Works with test automation tools (if applicable)

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:

Bachelors Degree in the field of business administration, computer science, management information systems and 2+ years related work experience with knowledge of SDLC.  Demonstrated QA skills with proven experience in test design, development, and execution of test cases, in support of software and hardware solutions; any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.  Prefer experience in WMS application and/or an SAP environment (or other major ERP software application) with interfaces to best of breed COTS applications.  Experience in retail industry is highly desirable.  Minimal travel may be required.
