SRC currently has an opening for an electronics technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance on specialized electronic communication systems in the 30 MHz to 18GHz band. The candidate should be able to troubleshoot and diagnose, repair, or replace major electronic and electrical components in an integrated system comprised of COTS and specialized electronic assemblies. The candidate should be able to analyze and repair RF chain including filters and power amplifiers. They should be able to diagnose digital circuits for proper operation including, digital logic functionality, programmable memory and state machines. The individual should be able to read technical schematics, OEM manuals, and maintenance documentation. The candidate should be well versed in using network/spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and electronic lab equipment during diagnosis. The individual should have knowledge of building and vehicle power systems, including power distribution from portable generators. Experience with US Army communications system would be very advantageous. The candidate should have an associate’s degree in a related field.
The candidate should have experience in the following:
• Following maintenance procedures (including troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair) based on technical
• Planning and tracking repair items for multiple electronic systems
• Diagnosis of OEM equipment and preparation for return to OEM vendor, performing an acceptance test upon
receipt of repaired item
• Diagnosis and repair of computer and embedded systems
• Diagnosis and repair of RF transmission systems, including RF filters and amplification systems
• Building and repairing wire harnesses and cables
• Building and repairing electronic assemblies
The successful candidate will primarily support maintenance operations on White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), NM and Ft. Bliss, TX, but should also be willing to travel (25%) to support operations on other test ranges.
• Responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of US Army communications systems
• Will perform regularly scheduled maintenance on systems as needed
• Document maintenance actions and provide input to maintenance plans
• Interface with inventory and purchasing personnel to assure proper equipment, spares, and consumables are
• Able to work in a demanding and flexible environment
The candidate must currently hold or be eligible to obtain a secret security clearance.
