GOVERNMENT BUILDING CODE ENFORCEMENT
DEPARTMENT

 


The Licking County Board of Commissioners is creating a new department, Building Code Enforcement, to administer the
enforcement of various state and local building codes; therefore is seeking well-qualified candidates to fill the following
positions:



Building Code Administrator:
Provides leadership and direction to the Building Code Enforcement Department. Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelors' Degree from a four-year college or university; a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience; and 8 to 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This is an
unclassified position that reports directly to the Board of County Commissioners. Successful candidates must possess a valid Ohio Driver's License with a safe driving record and the following state minimum certifications: Building Official (BO) and Residential Building Code (RBO). Salary Range: $64,252 to $80,315 - commensurate with experience.



Chief Building Inspector:
Inspects residential and commercial properties within County jurisdiction. Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelors'
Degree from a four-year college or university; and 4 to 6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience. Successful
candidates must possess a valid Ohio Driver's License with a safe driving record and the following state minimum certifications: Manufactured Homes (MH), Building
Inspector (BI) and Residential Building
Inspector (RBI). Salary Range: $46,292 to $57,865 - commensurate with experience.



Plans Examiner:
Inspects residential and commercial properties within County jurisdiction. Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelors' Degree from a four-year college or university; and 4 to 6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful candidates must possess a valid Ohio Driver's
License with a safe driving record and the following state minimum certifications: Manufactured Homes (MH), Building
Inspector (BI) and Residential Building
Inspector (RBI). Salary Range: $46,292 to $57,865 - commensurate with experience.



Administrative Assistant:
Provides customer service and administrative/clerical support for the Building Code Enforcement Department. Qualified candidates will possess a High School diploma or general education
degree (GED) and 1 to 3 years related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful candidates must have the ability to multi-task, work in a fast paced environment and possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Salary Range: $24,419 to $30,524 - commensurate with
experience.
