This position is responsible for polysomnographic recording, determining testing and treatment parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering Physician, Medical Director and/or SDC protocols. Additionally, this position is responsible for all technical duties related to the polysomnographic evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders providing high quality results and patient care.
KEY JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Assesses patient testing modalities and treatment protocols and consults with referring Physician, Medical Director or Clinical Director as needed to produce optimal polysomnographic procedures. (E)
B. Evaluates sleep study related equipment and inventory. (E)
C. Performs routine and complex equipment care, maintenance and repairs. (E)
D. Scores sleep/wake stages and clinical events by applying professionally accepted guidelines and SDC specific protocols, generating accurate reports. (E)
E. Demonstrates competence to perform assigned responsibilities is a manner that meets the age-specific
and developmental needs of the members served by the department. (E)
F. Appropriately adapts assigned assessment, treatment, and/or service methods to accommodate the
unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific and other developmental needs of each member
G. Demonstrates adherence to the CORE Values of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health Care (E)
H. Performs other duties as assigned. (M)

Bachelor’s degree in health care field is preferred. Requires successful completion of an educational program with an emphasis in polysomnography or equivalent experience.
Requires 1 year experience as a Polysomnogrsphic Tech.
Prefer Registry by the BRPT, NBRC or ABRET.
Requires demonstrated knowledge of medical equipment unique to polysomnography as well as other equipment related to polysomnography such as oximeter, airflow thermistors, computerized digital systems, CPAP and BilPAP as well as charts, files and reports. Requires effective communication skills.
