Excellent product SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER opportunity for a high growth firm located in New England, seeking a creative thinker with strong leadership qualities who is excited about working on cutting-edge, renewable energy technology.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, update, and test software tools supporting new products development and engineering
  • Interface with internal cross-functional teams, distributors and customers
  • Provide commissioning and testing assistance
  • Plan and manage technical projects within scope, schedule, and budget
  • Design, update and enhance various internal software tools

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer engineering, Information Systems or other Computer-related area or equivalent experience, A PLUS to have PhD in computer science or computer-related area
  • Minimum 5+ years related experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, written. and verbal communication skills
  • C, C++ and Java (Preferred)
  • Strong GUI design concepts
  • Strong Object Oriented design methodology and implementation experience
  • Strong Database concept, usage, backend systems, its interface with high level languages � MySQL and/or PostgreSQL
  • Python or Perl
  • TCP/UDP socket level programming and application development on TCP/IP stack
  • Web application programming technologies �PHP, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, AJAX
  • Firm grasp on Operating Systems - Windows XP and/or Linux/Unix or equivalent
  • doxygen, Eclipse, Maven (Preferred)
  • GNU tool chain - automake, autoconf (Preffered)
  • SSL, STunnel (Preferred)
  • SOAP, XML
  • xUnit testing frameworks, such as JUnit and CppUnit (Preferred)
  • Static and dynamic analyzers, including: valgrind, Purify, Quantify (Preferred)
  • IP network architecture, routing, STunnel usage (Preferred)
  • Experience with any version control software � Microsoft visual source safe (Preferred)
  • Clearcase, Mercurial, SVN etc (Preferred)
  • System administration (Preffered)
