And for patients waiting for answers to important health questions, it's a road they want to travel as quickly as possible. At Quest Diagnostics Incorporated, we understand urgency. But more than speed, we focus our energies on accuracy. Currently, we seek an Exam One Branch Manager.

Basic Purpose:

This position is responsible for cost control, overall operations and profitability of the Branch Office.  Specific duties include, but are not limited to, identifying the need for employees, hiring and training examiners, coordinating activities with the District Manager or Regional Manager, the Case Management Center and the Quality Department, coordinating with local sales representatives, and managing data and Customer Service Representatives.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Ensures departments under their charge complete tasks and fulfill work and sales orders within the time frame required by ExamOne.  This includes optimizing schedules for work and procurement, and providing training and development of staff members to discharge job functions in an effective and efficient manner as well as auditing processes for inefficiencies.  This also includes ensuring all materials are on hand in the appropriate quantities and all instrumentation is calibrated accurately.

Responsible for training all employees on safety procedures, tracking accidents and reviewing process in an effort to reduce the risk of accidents. This includes ensuring all employees are trained, re-trained and cross-trained emphasizing excellent customer service in order to provide the highest level of satisfaction to each and every internal and external customer.

Accountable for staying within the Branch operating budget.  Variances in the budget must be evaluated and appropriate corrective action taken to bring cost deviations under control including utilizing overtime in a disciplined manner to meet unanticipated increases in business volume.

Develops and participates in a quality improvement plan in conjunction with corporate quality improvement to continually evaluate quality and reproducibility of product or service.

Responds to the needs and requests of clients and LabOne management and staff in a professional and expedient manner.

Observes all compliance policies and safety policies and procedures as outlined in the company Safety Manual or safety matters included in other special training.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  •  Responsible for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  •  Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned unit, department, or group.

  •  Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training or causing the training of employees within assigned unit, department or group.

  •  Responsible for ensuring a performance appraisal for each individual within the assigned unit, department or group is conducted and completed according to company policy no less than once every 12 months.

  •  Responsible for timely and accurate submission of information in accordance with the coompanyTime and Attendance Tracking policy.

    Reviews and Approvals

    Examples of decisions that can be taken without conferring with supervisor.

  •   Decisions regarding the hiring and termination of examiners
  •   Decision to conduct examiner and employee training
  •   Decision to attend local industry functions
  •   Decision to order supplies up to a pre-determined amount

    Examples of decisions that can be taken only after conferring with supervisor.

  •   Decision to add employees at the branch level
  •   Decision to hire examiners at a rate above the established ceiling
  •   Decision to set up new accounts payable vendors for operating expenditures

    Knowledge and Experience:

    Education and/or ExperienceBachelor of Arts/Science in Business Management or related field with 2 – 3 years experience in client services operations and customer service processes and two years supervisory experience.  Experience may be substituted for degree.  Or four years experience with ExamOne within a specialized area of concentration – either field operations or sales.

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate in person and on the telephone.  The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel in order to operate computer keyboard, office equipment and other essential tasks.  The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch and reach with hands and arms. This position infrequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
