Description The Lead Solution Architect will be responsible for the architecture and design of custom solutions for a complex MarkLogic XML content strategy. This position will provide architectural leadership and execution to the HMH Publishing Technology vision and portfolio. Candidates must be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with technical and business project professionals to rationalize requirements for integration into relevant application designs and architectures. Candidates will be expected to present designs in formal reviews, lead MarkLogic development projects, technical architecture, data modeling for ML projects, service integrations with new and existing system within the portfolio with ML, content publishing and distribution through multi-channel systems and multi-formats. Must be highly motivated, and be able to work independently and with various teams. Desired technical domain knowledge and experience; ECM Knowledge, Knowledge on Adobe products (Creative Suite, IDML, PDF, FLEX, InDesign Server), MS Office, MarkLogic, XML, Java, HTML, XHTML, AJAX, and .NET.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

� Design MarkLogic �based architectural solutions including UI, business logic, and content abstraction.
� Utilize Marklogic, Application & Library Services for customizations and configurations.
� Design / create custom XQuery development libraries and methods.
� Design supporting XML schemas aligning required object models.
� Assist in Marklogic administration activities, security and user management, active directory integrations and management of maintenance jobs.
� Recommend sizing and configuration of the MarkLogic content repositories to support capacity management requirements.
� Utilize configuration and customization tools within MarkLogic to support enterprise-wide content management, aggregation and publishing.
� Ensure high quality software through proper architectural and development oversight of onshore and offshore development teams.
� Support the integration with Marklogic with other applications with in the portfolio as necessary.
� Collaborate with Hardware, network, and server engineering groups to ensure proper configuration and integration of the environment.
� Plan for growth, changing system loads, changing security environments, maximization of system availability.
� Design and implement security strategies as required for given functional and business domains.
� Ensure adequate Documentation of all architectural strategies, processes, and procedures related to the implementation, testing, and support of the environment.
� Design and oversee execution of POCs for new technologies, approaches, integrations, and data migrations.
� Assist end �user and system integrators with troubleshooting, performance, and migration issues.

Please note: Position can be located in Boston, Orlando, or Austin.
Requirements QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

� 2-3 years experience supporting large Marklogic environments including application architecture, design, implementation, and support.
� Experience in installing, configuring, tuning, and supporting Marklogic 4.0 & 4.1 environments.
� Strong proficiency with XPath, XQuery 1.0 & 1.1, XQueryML, XSLT.
� Experience with MarkLogic Applications Service 1.0
� 5-10 years experience in application architecture or senior development role.
� 2-3 years Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Java and or .NET web service implementations.
� Strong interpersonal skills with good oral and written communications skills.
� Strong domain knowledge and experience in enterprise content management, Adobe products (Creative Suite CS3/CS4, IDML, PDF, FLEX), MS Office, MarkLogic, XML structured content.
� Strong experience and knowledge diversity in Java, HTML, XHTML, AJAX, FLEX, and .NET, MSSQL, Oracle, and associated infrastructural platforms and application servers.
� Experience with XP or FDD (Feature Driven Development) agile methodologies, UML, Class and Sequence diagramming.
� Familiarity with the publishing industry a strong plus.

EDUCATION:

� Bachelor�s degree or equivalent preferred. Masters Degree a plus.
