Job Description
Under direction of the manager, supervises and coordinates the operational systems for Clinical Nutrition Services including human resources, financial performance, customer service, menu development and modification. Provides coordination, training and staff development for clinical nutrition staff. Provides medical nutrition therapy and nutrition care to all patients utilizing technical skills in acute care, skilled nursing, and/or out-patient setting. Skills include clinical assessment, screening for nutritional risk, developing, implementing, and monitoring a nutrition care plan, education, and follow-up. Provides service to patients of all ages from pediatrics to geriatrics. Ensures compliance with JCAHO, Title XXII and other applicable regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Baccalaureate Degree in Food and Nutrition Services/Nutrition Science. Completion of a dietetric internship or other training which has been approved by the American Dietetic Association. Registered Dietitian through the Commission of Dietetic Registration. Member of one of the following: American Dietetic Association, American Diabetes Association, American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, American Society of Clinical Nutrition or American Association of Diabetes Educators.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Five years experience in the acute care, sub acute, or skilled nursing setting to include at least 2-3 years of progressive leadership experience. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge/experience in compliance of JCAHO Standards, Title XXII, and other applicable regulatory requirements. Complex problem solving, team development, strategic planning and systems planning/development. Knowledge of medical/scientific terminology with ability to communicate technical/clinical aspects of department. Knowledge of computer word processing and spread sheets and other clinical software.
