Description
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for executing project plans for engineering management resources as well as bandwidth transport and capacity management of network needs and forecasting. Administers company policy and provides efficient operation in the areas of planning, project development, implementation, and manages inventory for leased capacity, and numerous internal corporate customers for transport and capacity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Prioritizes and coordinates solutions for circuit orders and capacity requirements for the divisions, and internal corporate customers for transport and capacity
- Interacts with network engineers and engineering staff to develop the required plans for effective networking management to ensure projects are controlled and completed on time and within budget
- Creates Engineering diagrams of solutions
- Works with engineering staff at the Corporate and Divisional levels to design and implement plans for interconnects with LECs and other carriers
- Provides project management and network planning support in close coordination with access providers
- Develops and maintains processes and procedures associated with Transport and Circuit management functions
- Develops and produces reports clearly indicating benchmarks, critical paths, resource loads, schedule slack and required plan adjustments
- Identifies project slips and provides suggested corrective courses to recover schedule slippage
- Coordinates bandwidth-needs and forecasting for all aspects of networking
- Provides project and vendor coordination of access providers
- Provides billing coordination, verification, and support to network key holders and corporate accounting
- Provides contract negotiation and project management support to the Corporate Contracts Manager
- Reviews and submits reports and other data as required by leadership and conducts a continuing evaluation of task force results
- Ensures compliance with established processes, procedures and policies
Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
5 plus years of relevant transport experience in Telecommunications or related industry
3 plus years program development and project planning experience
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION & LICENSES:
BS/BA in Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
