Job Description
SUMMARY
Manages all the activities of Internal purchases, PeopleSoft eProcurement  and large item fixed asset acquisitions.  Also responsible for  Implementing Corporate Purchasing policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Implements activities related to the procurement of large item fixed asset acquisitions (i.e. PCs, laptops, servers, vehicles, copiers, fax machines, and postage equipment).
  • Lease assessment, acquisition and terminations (equipment).
  • Directs the activities of buyers to accomplish company objectives.
  • Reviews and approves purchases up to a specified dollar amount.
  • May negotiate major contracts involving large dollar amounts.
  • Develops policies and procedures for the operation of procurement activities.
  • Monitors the cost, schedule and performance aspects of major subcontracts.

Job Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.  Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a related field.  Previous leadership experience required; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Oversees the daily operation of one or more departments.  Directs staff in the development and implementation of departmental policies, procedures and programs.  Manages, perhaps through subordinate supervisors, the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results including costs, methods and staffing.  Adheres to both company policy and governmental regulations concerning department and direct employee activities.  Manages departmental structure, workforce planning, career development, training, planning and budgeting.  Responsible for department budget.  Performs hiring, firing, objective setting, performance appraisals, coaching and pay reviews.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, decision-making, and analytical skills.
  • Able to use independent judgment to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload.

  • Able to work extended hours as business needs dictate.
