Job Description

More than 12,000 customers worldwide rely on Deltek to measure business results, optimize performance, streamline operations and win new business.Deltek is seeking a Principal Finance Analyst to work in our dynamic Finance department.Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strategic business partnership with DGS Executives.
  • Actively own Key Finance and Business Process � recommend areas for improvement and lead projects to enhance the reporting and analytical infrastructure, and provide a high level of thought leadership.
  • Assist with bi-weekly Forecast submissions.
  • Assist in establishing best practices for the Annual Budgeting Process.
  • Lead monthly results analysis - provide detail explanations for variances, and research open items.
  • Help analyze and track Key Business KPI's.
  • Responsible for KPI's Dashboard reporting & analysis.
  • Perform specific Accounting close cycle functions to help ensure books are closed timely and accurately - Accruals, Reconciliations, and Roll-forwards.
  • Assist in compiling presentations for the quarterly operational review meetings (QBR�s).
  • Ability to lead specific Finance projects, and make process change recommendations.
  • Act as a Liaison for various stakeholders - FP&A, Accounting Operations, G/L Accounting, HR and IT.
  • Exhibit flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities & assignments as they are identified.
  • Assist with various ad hoc projects as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA/MBA is a plus.
  • 7+ years of Finance and Accounting related experience - Software Industry experience a plus.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with BU Executives - lead/participate in key business discussions.
  • Solid understanding of budgeting and forecasting techniques and internal organizational structures.
  • Strong systems aptitude - experience with Costpoint, Cognos or other major financial reporting tools preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel - familiarity with advanced spreadsheet functions; working with Databases, Pivot Tables, and modeling out Business Scenarios.
