OVERVIEW: Review of the metallurgical and processing aspects of the next generation axles supplied to ArvinMeritor.
Principal Accountabilities:
* Assist with the metallurgical evaluation of the next generation axle PPAP submissions.
* Assist with the metallurgical aspects of DMO projects (alloy reduction, heat treatment optimizations, supplier development, etc.).
* Support project divisional need, examples: Design, Operations, Procurement, Qualities, etc.
* Provide technical reports.
Responsibilities:
* Provide materials engineering support to the design and manufacturing staffs of ArvinMeritor.
* Provide Material and Process Specifications, consultations, and propose new and/or revise specifications. Actively participate as a member of the Specification Review Committee.
* Perform materials characterization for the purpose of failure resolution and product improvement.
* Expand expertise in Materials Engineering and Manufacturing Operations.
* Build links to customers - Establish good working relationships with customers through constant interaction.
Education/Experience:
* B.S. Materials Engineering / Science
* 2 to 5 years of experience in materials engineering
Good oral and written communication skills
