Automation/Manufacturing Engineer
Description:
Our client's Life Sciences Group designs and manufactures DNA Designer / OneSpace microarrays, reagents, instruments, and disposables for use in biological and biomedical R&D. You will play a key role in the success of these products by your contribution to the automation of new manufacturing processes and systems integration of tools for high volume production.

Our client is seeking a motivated and adaptable individual to join our team. Responsibilities will include full life-cycle design, development, and transfer to manufacturing of automation equipment and processes for bio-consumables.

To full-fill requirements for this position you should be adept at:
scaling-up manufacturing processes and adapting them to automation,

specifying tool requirements for equipment suppliers,

integrating equipment and processes with an existing manufacturing structure.

Experience developing and producing bio-consumables or medical devices, parts sorting, identification and labeling, glue bonding and optical inspection techniques are highly desirable.

Familiarity of semiconductor back-end process equipment and vendors is also a plus.

A successful candidate should have a strong understanding of SPC techniques, FMEAs, Six Sigma, and reliability standards, excellent communication skills - verbal, written and presentation.

Our client is looking for a strong driver who is assertive and results/goal oriented while also able to work efficiently with a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers. This position is "hands on" in nature and requires close involvement though all levels of the program.

Requirements:
This position requires a minimum of 7 years of manufacturing engineering experience, with an emphasis on automation and high volume assembly and packaging of consumables.

Additional requirements include:

A B.S or M.S. in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering

Automation engineering skills, system design and familiarity with automation suppliers

Scale-up of manufacturing processes, automation techniques for bio consumables

Proficiency in the use of Solid Designer/OneSpace, Solid Works or other 3-D CAD platform

Knowledge of material properties and their design tradeoffs

Experience with ISO 13485 quality systems is a plus
