Department:  Molecular Biology - 126

Position Summary:  A research specialist position is available in a Department of Molecular Biology laboratory for a project focusing on neuronal development. The successful candidate will work with the P.I. and a postdoctoral fellow to perform a genetic screen for transcripts that exhibit localized distributions within neurons and to characterize interesting targets. Specific duties will include: basic Drosophila genetics and stock maintenance, preparation of samples for microscopy, basic molecular biology, and PCR. This position is a 2 year term position.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree with course work in genetics and molecular biology required. Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and carry out independent research as well as ability to work as a team member is required.
