BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – ENERGY SERVICES

 

 

COMPANY:  Our client is a leader in the energy saving solutions industry and is looking for you to join their team to expand their market share.  If you are an entrepreneur and ready to take your career to the next level this is the opportunity for you.   

 

POSITION:  The Business Development Manager is responsible for fulfilling regional and corporate goals related to generating new business of comprehensive performance contracting, to the State Agency/City/Municipality and Higher Education markets.  The BDM is responsible for market research, identifying high potential leads and the development of qualified leads to prospects and customers.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Lead, manage, and own the sales effort for the assigned market segments:  State and Local Government and Higher Education

 

  • Find and cultivate potential business opportunities

 

  • Develop relationships with decision makers, influencers, suppliers and others who impact the sales process

 

  • Facilitate the development of projects by guiding a team of engineers and proposal developers

 

  • Work with marketing to proactively generate offerings, lead generation, tools and channels that lead to increased sales

 

  • Maintain contact and customer awareness of process; act as a liaison between customer and all facets of the company

 

  • Interact with engineering and operations teams to collect site data and evaluate responses to identify specific energy conservation measures and methodology

 

Requirements  
  • Bachelor’s  of Engineering or Business Degree Preferred; Associates Degree Minimum

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of successful intangible solutions-based sales experience, preferably in an energy related or similar business . . . Must be able to demonstrate that you are Top Performer

 

  • 3+ years of selling to state/local governments, K-12 School Districts, Universities and Community Colleges

 

  • Ability to manage complex sales cycles in a team Strategic Solutions Sales environment with sales value of over $1 million per contract

 

  • Must be an excellent door-opener and relationship builder, and an entrepreneur by nature

 

  • Understanding of  the building trade, controls, mechanical and electrical systems, and performance contracting is a plus

 

  • Must be highly motivated, and self-starter go-getter

 

  • Strong computer skills and technical aptitude
