Mechanical Drafter
Select Staffing is currently hiring on behalf of a small, but growing company for a Mechanical Drafter. This position involves preparation of mechanical drawings utilizing Solid Works 2008, Adobe Illustrator, interpretation of ANSI/ASME drawing standards including ANSI/ASME Y14.5, ability to read mechanical drawings including GD&T and create solid models or detailed drawings from these initial drawings, work from engineering notes, verbal instructions, red-lined marked drafts, and rough or detailed sketches to prepare readable, detailed drawings, parts lists, and complete mechanical drawings of major components, systems, and assemblies for engineering or manufacturing purposes.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have strong communication skills, be able to perform quality inspections of their own work. The ideal candidate will possess three to five years experience with Mechanical Drafting, records maintenance including files, drawings, parts lists, specifications, standards, and other data essential to the completion of engineering drawings as required.
This is a full-time position that is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM with a negotiable salary based upon experience in Erie, CO. You must possess an Associates degree or higher education. You must have a high level of recent experience with Geometric Dimensional Tolerancing to fulfill the daily duties. You must be comfortable creating drawings of existing parts. You must be comfortable working within a manufacturing environment. Experience with patent drafting, quality inspection, military inspection, and government contracts is a plus.
- Must have a degree from a recognized CAD training facility and a minimum of an Associates degree
- Must have a minimum of 3-5 years experience with mechanical drafting
- Experience with Solid Works 2008, Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office is a must
- Experience with government, military, commercial and industrial drawings and specifications is a must
- Experience with extrusions, springs, machined parts, cast/forged parts, injection molded plastics, stampings, and fasteners/hardware is a must
- Experience working as a self-starter and with a team of engineers is ideal
- Experience producing drawings and solid models from solid models, sketches, and existing drawings is ideal.
- Experience with Solid Works 2008, Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office is a must
- Experience with government, military, commercial and industrial drawings and specifications is a must
- Experience with extrusions, springs, machined parts, cast/forged parts, injection molded plastics, stampings, and fasteners/hardware is a must
- Experience working as a self-starter and with a team of engineers is ideal
- Experience producing drawings and solid models from solid models, sketches, and existing drawings is ideal. Also experience researching various databases to gather specifications for the drawings
- Experience calculating tolerance stack-ups to verify design fit-up
- Experience within a manufacturing environment is a necessity
- Experience with quality assurance is a plus
- Knowledge of military, law-enforcement, gunsmith, or armored background with firearms is a plus
- Will require a Background Check and Drug Screen
